Raleigh Bridal Portrait – The Garden on Millbrook
When it comes to diverse wedding venues, The Garden on Millbrook is on the top of the list. It’s one of my favorite places to shoot bridal portraits. It can be decorated or empty, and you will still have a perfect backdrop for a stunning bridal portrait. Whether shooting on the porch, side patio, or by the piano you cant go wrong with The Garden on Millbrook as your Raleigh bridal portrait destination.
On a hot summer afternoon, the air conditioning inside of The Garden on Millbrook is a life saver. Caitlin’s wedding dress came in mid-July, and we shot her portraits as soon as we could before it got any hotter. North Carolina summers aren’t the best time for outdoor pictures if you don’t want to sweat. Thankfully we had a great location for her bridal portrait session.
Finally, I can’t forget to mention Wink Hair & Makeup for doing an excellent job with Caitlin. Her makeup held up to 100-degree outdoor heat. Her hair also didn’t turn into a giant frizzy mess from the 100% humidity.
We started the shoot inside on the couches and the tile floor which always makes for a great portrait location. I am a big lover of reflections and I never pass up the opportunity to shoot one. The tile floor in the Garden on Millbrook provides an excellent opportunity for reflection shots, as you can see in the following images.

The Outdoors
Despite the North Carolina heat and humidity, we braved the outdoors to shoot on the porch. No bridal portrait shoot would be complete without shooting beside the columns. Caitlin was a trooper and did an awesome job shooting outside in such hot weather. To finish off the shoot we drove to JC Ralston Arboretum to get some more outdoor shots.
