An Intimate Mordecai Historic Park Wedding
Tim and Leslie’s Mordecai Historic Park wedding was not my normal type of wedding. It’s not often that I get to shoot a fellow photographers wedding or that I get to shoot a friends wedding. That is mainly for two reasons. First, I don’t have many friends, and second, the ones I do have are already married. Both Tim and Leslie have helped me through the years on bridal and creative shoots. Usually not know if I was going to endanger their lives or send them to the wrong location. What also made this wedding unique was the timeline. Normal wedding day coverage is usually 8-12 hours long. Tim and Leslie, flawlessly, had their wedding day in three hours and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
When Leslie and Tim initial asked me to shoot their wedding, it was going to be a courthouse wedding in 2018. Beautiful events transpired that allowed them to have a more intimate wedding in Mordecai Historic Park in downtown Raleigh. The ceremony was held in St. Mark’s Chapel. If you are a bride looking for a venue for an intimate service, this is your place. Indeed a wedding venue for the couple and their closest loved ones. It allows everyone to be close and enjoy the ceremony.
The Prep.
We started the wedding day off with Leslie getting her hair and makeup done at Tim’s parents house. The wedding bands were some of my favorites from 2017.

Tim, his sons, and groomsmen all went to Van-tique Barbershop in Garner. After shooting this barbershop, I will recommend it to future grooms who are in search of a place to relax with their groomsmen before the wedding ceremony.

St. Mark’s Chapel
December’s in North Carolina usually mean barren trees and the color brown. We were blessed with some great colored leaves still on the trees with a great historic background.

First Look
Because their Mordecai Historic Park wedding was so intimate and their desire to be as stress free, they both decided to do a first look.

The Ceremony
Every wedding ceremony should start off wit the ring bearers with Nerf guns.
