– Lance & Emilee –
One of the hidden wedding venue gems in the Triangle area is The Hudson Manor. With its Manor House, Gardens, Wedding Chapel, and Grand Ballroom its all a bride needs for her wedding day and perfect for North Carolina weather. With their closest friends and family, Lance and Emilee had an awesome day at their Hudson Manor wedding.

I am starting off this blog post a little differently from my usual blogs. Lance had a specific vision for his groomsmen prep portrait. Its hard to find a groom who is so active in portrait suggestions. We will get to the ladies in a second but here are Lance and his guys getting ready and in the road.

My first Hudson Manor wedding since the redesign of the front porch and columns. It can be hard to find a way to take a traditional wedding portrait or detail shots. The new facade allows for some great images that weren’t possible before. One of the new possibilities is hanging the bridal gown from an amazing gilded iron balcony.
Great spring floral arrangements by Brandi’s Botanicals out of Youngsville, NC. The bouquets were a perfect match for the brides wedding gown and the yellow of the bridesmaids dresses.

It seems like the wedding day always has that down time right before the ceremony where the bride is usually by herself while everyone else is running around. That down time is always great for candid shot or a formal portrait. With Emilee there was no need to pose her. She was sitting in front of the window of the chapel at the Hudson Manor just waiting for her party to join her and her father to come escort her down the isle.

The Wedding Reception
Once the ceremony, the portraits, and the crazy running around are over, comes the reception. Its the time to sit, eat, and dance. Another important piece of a wedding is the details. The Hudson Manor is one of those rare venues that can be transformed to ultra chic, traditional, country, or traditional elegance. The flowers from Brandi’s Botanicals and the centerpieces transformed the interior to an elegant ballroom. No wedding would be complete with out a beautiful cake. And Confectionate Cakes did not disappoint, not only was it beautiful but it tasted great!

Finally the reception is the time for guest to talk and mingle with the bride and groom, cake cutting, games and just enjoy an evening of music and dancing. Especially dancing! Most of all of Lance and Emilee’s wedding reception showed their love for music and their friends!
